Does a REALTOR need to enter into a written agreement before touring a commercial property?
The NAR Settlement is for residential properties and transactions, not commercial properties or transactions. However, under Virginia law, an agent is required to have a signed buyer brokerage agreement upon entering into a brokerage relationship with a buyer – even for commercial properties.

Moody’s, CAAR’s vendor for the Catylist commercial MLS system which feeds CVCMLS.com, just announced the tax assessor data assigned to property records allow CAAR commercial member subscribers to focus their research efforts in analyzing public record information in one place. A new “Taxes” section on the Property Details tab of property pages that reports a property’s tax burden and assessed value for the most recent year available from the county assessor. A Tax Card information page and PDF export that includes the property’s current and historical tax and assessed value, as well as an overview of its structural attributes, ownership, location details, chain of title, and deed/mortgage history.
On behalf of the Commercial Council, CAAR’s Catylist MLS system platform was upgraded as of Tues., Nov. 7th. As a reminder, the Catylist MLS system directly feeds the Central Virginia Commercial (CVC) MLS public search engine.
