A data feed is a defined set of listing data from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) provided to a brokerage, agent, vendor, or other authorized entity. The data feed is delivered via WebAPI. You can learn more about Trestles WebAPI here.
The data feed license authorizes an Agent, Broker, or Technology Providers to receive listing content from Charlottesville area Association of REALTORS® (CAAR), Greater Augusta Association of REALTORS® (GAAR), and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Area Association of REALTORS® (HRAR) for use as defined by the terms of the license. Access to CAAR-GAAR-HRAR data will not be granted until an agreement is in place with both the Technology Providers and a participating Brokerage.
CAAR-GAAR-HRAR offers feeds for the Internet Data Exchange (IDX), Internet Data Exchange+ (IDX+), Virtual Office Website (VOW), and Brokerage Back Office products.
The lDX WebAPI Data Feed that supports the latest RESO Data Dictionary standard. This data product offers access to the listing content that is most often used to create “home” search internet products. The listing content in this data product includes only OnMarket listings excluding “Coming Soon” Lisitngs.
The IDX+ WebAPI data product offers all of the content included in the lDX WebAPI data feed PLUS three (3) years of Sold data.
The Virtual Office Website WebAPI (or VOW WebAPI ) data product gives access to the content necessary to provide virtual office real estate services to your buyer and seller clients. The listing content provided with this data product contains listing information and media content from IDX+ WebAPI feed with the addition of expired listings and six (6) years of sold data. Because of the potentially sensitive nature of this off-market data, VOW listings are not open to the general public. Instead it is a requirement that a client-agent relationship be established before a user gains access to the VOW. This can take the form of forced registration pop-up or a login gateway on the VOW site.
The Brokerage Back Office product includes more sensitive listing information, including listing expiration dates. No public record information is given. The Back Office data product allows brokers to streamline back-office brokerage functions by importing CAAR-GAAR-HRAR listings associated with the firm into listing management and accounting tools, and displays the firm’s active listings on the firm’s website. The Back Office product is not available for agents. The listing content provided in this data product includes all listing statuses but is limited to individual brokerages.
The Back Office Feed for Technology Providers product enables technology providers to manage on behalf of a Broker(s).
Data feed registration, billing, and technical support are handled through Trestle.
CAAR-GAAR-HRAR charges a $650 annual fee to the Technology Providers handling the data for brokers and agents. If the Brokerage will be handling the feed directly without the assistance of a third-party vendor, then the Brokerage will be responsible for the payment. No annual fee will be charged for Back Office feeds by CAAR-GAAR-HRAR. New vendors will be charged a one-time set-up fee of $350. Trestle Service Fees can be accessed here and are separate from fees charged by CAAR-GAAR-HRAR.
CAAR-GAAR-HRAR distributes listing data and photos exclusively through WebAPI. IDX and VOW data feed display requirements can be found in the current MLS Rules and Regulations found here. You can learn more about Trestles WebAPI here.
