DEI Council hosted “America’s Persistent Color Line in Housing: Charlottesville as an Important Case Study” with Dr. James Saunders. Session made possible by a $5,000 NAR Diversity Grant
DEI Council hosted “How to Have Difficult Conversations Around Race… or Any Differences For that Matter” Leslie Frazier, Senior Vice President of Community & Industry Relations of Virginia REALTORS®.

2022

DEI Council participated in the Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Job Fair, where they: communicated the value of the REALTOR® ; promoted the REALTOR® profession as a career choice; and shared how REALTOR® are involved in the community

DEI Council received a $3,000 NAR Housing Opportunity Grant tsupport a National Association of Real Estate Brokers Realtist Chapter of Richmond Community Wealth Building Day in April.
DEI Council hosted a disability inclusion and awareness overview with speakers Joe Jamison and Cory Paradis of VisitAble LLC as part of the May General Membership Meeting. Watch the recording of the session. In addition, VisitAble is offering members the opportunity tearn 1 Related continuing education credit now through May 2024 in a self-guided, online training.
DEI Master Group hosted a Fair Housing: Long Island Divided class with instructor Bill Dedman in October. This class was brought tmembers with a $5,000 NAR Diversity Grant and a $2,500 VAR Diversity Grant. Watch the recording of the session.
DEI Master Group hosted Credit Inequity & Housing Access by Housing Opportunities Made Equal of VA (HOME of VA) in December. Watch the recording of the session. DEI Master Group provided a $1,000 donation as a thank you for presenting.
