Starting in 2025, members of the National Association of REALTORS® are required to obtain both ethics and fair housing training. Cycle 8 will begin on January 1, 2025 and end on December 31, 2027.

You have likely fulfilled this requirement when you renewed your real estate license. Unfortunately, the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), does not automatically pass on this information to REALTOR® associations. Per the CAAR Bylaws, an appraiser is a REALTOR®; therefore, this requirement applies to appraisers.

If you have completed a Code of Ethics course with a vendor other than with CAAR (see list below), please email your certificate of completion to education@caar.com at your earliest convenience. The deadline is Fri., Dec. 17, 2025:

If you have not taken the Fair Housing course, you can satisfy this requirement by attending one of the following courses:

  (3 hrs. Related CE credits – OR – 2 hrs. PLE credits)

• Tues., Apr. 15th , 10 a.m. – Noon, Hillsdale Conference Center | Fair Housing with instructor Rachel Burns
  (2 hrs. Fair Housing CE/PLE credits)

• Thurs., Apr. 24th, 2 – 4 p.m., Hillsdale Conference Center | Fair Housing with instructor Donna Patton
  (2 hrs. Fair Housing CE/PLE credits)

• Thurs., May 8th , 8:30 a.m. – Noon, Hillsdale Conference Center /Zoom | At Home With Diversity with instructor Reggie Copeland
  (2 hrs. Fair Housing CE credits and 2 hrs. Related CE credits – OR – 2 hrs. Related PLE credits and 2 hrs. Current Trends PLE credits)

**Please note** If you do not complete the fair housing requirement by Fri., Dec. 31st, 2027, your REALTOR® membership will be suspended until you have completed the requirement at CAAR or provided a certificate of completion.
